Accreditations

Over the passed 15 years I think it would be fair to say that the construction industry has changed drastically for the better out on site.

From the way H&S is managed from our office based staff to the attitude towards H&S from our site based staff and the main contractors.

The statistics show that there has been a 40% decline in site based incidents throughout the construction industry since 2001 so this goes a long way to show that H&S is adapting for the better.

Over this timescale there have been many accreditions for companies to acquire to show their commitment to the importance of H&S on site and at MJM we are no different. We have acquired two very important accreditations in CHAS which is the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme and ConstructionLine

CHAS was introduced in 2001 with its main objective of improving the health and safety standards across Great Britain. This is achieved by auditing subcontractors such as MJM to see if we pass the assessment to show we are adequately managing H&S within our company.

'Buyers' such as the main contractors we work for can access the CHAS database to find that they can be safe in the knowledge that we hold the relevant accreditation to manage and work safely in the construction industry.

Whilst we have our H&S accreditation to show our commitment to the safety of our employees for the main contractors to see we also hold an accredition that the main contractors can use to gauge the stature of our company. This is why we also hold the accreditation from ConstructionLine.

ConstructionLine is a key advantage as it provides main contractors with the knowledge that we have been rigorously audited to ensure we are competent, efficient and qualified to the standards required. ConstructionLine is also aligned with PAS91 which is the standardised pre-qualification questionnaire developed by British Standards.
